Since the company’s inception, Duck Creek Technologies’ mission has been to become the leading provider of product lifecycle management software and services for the insurance industry.

Duck Creek’s CEO and co-founder, Doug Roller, has long been a pioneer in the insurance rating business. In 1981 he created Micro-Magic Systems, an insurance rating software and services company that delivered products to independent insurance agents. Micro-Magic was then acquired by AMS Holdings in 1986, and became the cornerstone of AMS Rating Services, the largest and most prominent property-casualty agency insurance rating organization in the United States.

During that time, current members of the Duck Creek team served as core developers of AMS’s rating systems.

These industry veterans knew there had to be a better way. Drawing on their depth of experience, they founded Duck Creek Technologies and created the EXAMPLE Platform® -- the result of years of experience in dealing with the challenges of creating and maintaining insurance products.
