Hastings Mutual Insurance Chooses Duck Creek Technologies’ EXAMPLE Platform®
Duck Creek’s solution offers the quickest way to the Web for Hastings Mutual
...enables online submissions and quoting for agents
Bolivar, MO, August 17, 2004 – Duck Creek Technologies, Inc., a provider of rating and policy administration software for the insurance industry, today announced that Michigan-based Hastings Mutual Insurance Company has selected Duck Creek’s EXAMPLE Platform® Product Suite, including: EXAMPLE Author®, EXAMPLE Server®, EXAMPLE Express®.
The Duck Creek Platform will initially enhance and support Hastings’ existing web-based products. The Platform will provide the user interface and rules needed to capture information and interact with the existing rating engine to provide quotes to agents. Future application of the Platform include the usage of Duck Creek’s rating and policy processing for existing and new lines of business.
Bob Eshelbrenner, VP of IT with Hastings Mutual, commented, “Like most carriers, we have made a significant investment in technology. Our objective was to preserve our investment, while taking advantage of new technologies that could get our products to the Web. The Duck Creek Solution extends our existing environment and gives us a strategic Platform to Web-enable future products. If we choose, we can also take advantage of its broad rating and policy processing capabilities.”
Eshelbrenner continued, “Duck Creek offered a quick-to-value alternative. We especially liked the Duck Creek approach of taking the time and effort to work through a Proof of Concept. This extra step made us extremely comfortable and confident that we were making the best decision.”
Wendy Corman, Duck Creek’s Business Development Officer, added “The Hastings Mutual initiative is an excellent example of how our solution can Web enable existing environments. Customers who buy our solution for an existing, tactical problem end up with a strategic Platform that will support future needs such as rating and policy processing — for any line of business. We learned a great deal about the Hastings operation and requirements as we worked with them through the Proof of Concept process. And, we look forward to our combined team effort through the implementation.”
